What insurance do I need to be a courier?

Goods In Transit Insurance – Whilst not compulsory, goods in transit may prove useful to couriers as it covers the items they move, be it from one side of the country to the other, or from one town to the next.  If you are going to be carrying hazardous goods or materials you will need to speak to one of our brokers to see if it is covered in a standard GIT policy.

Employer’s Liability – If you have employee’s you may need to consider purchasing EL cover. This type of cover can help protect you if your employee’s have an accident whilst working for you.

Public Liability – Public Liability is often recommended for couriers as it covers your business against any damage your business may cause to the general public, be it their property or even injury and death. In the event of such an incident, the public liability cover could prove valuable in helping to make right any damage or cover court fees.
